Non toxic cookware

Over the last couple of years, I’ve become aware of the negative affects of using toxic cookware. Unfortunately, a lot of the cookware given to me for my wedding four years ago was toxic, so I’ve slowly been replacing one thing at a time as it wears out. I’ve been researching the different types of non-toxic cookware, so  I though I would share about it all in a post to hopefully to help people who, like me, are hoping to replace their toxic cookware.

Preparing for a Healthy Conception

Hello everyone! Sorry that it’s been so many weeks since I last wrote a post! To be honest, I’ve been a little unmotivated recently.

I have been quite tired, even though I’m in my second trimester, which I thought was when you are supposed to have great energy levels!? I guess everyone’s different. The heat has really been taking it out of me, too. I never realised being pregnant makes you so hot all the time! (Note to self: Next time, try not to be pregnant over summer!)

Also, when I do

My Experience Transferring From the Pill to Natural Contraception

Transferring from the pill to natural contraception

This is a topic which is quite personal, but I feel I just have to share because there is so little information about it and it is rarely talked about.

Interestingly, the oral contraceptive pill (I will just refer to it for the remainder of this article as ‘the pill’ for ease of reading) is the number one prescribed drug worldwide. People are starting to talk and write about why you should stop the pill if you are using it to ‘treat’ problems such as heavy periods, acne,

Make Your Own DOMS Bath Salts

Make your own DOMS bath salts

DOMS or delayed onset muscle soreness is the pain you get for 24 -72 hours after doing an unaccustomed or particularly intense exercise session. I have found one of the best ways to reduce this painful and stiff feeling is to soak in a bath filled with these bath salts. The salts might also make a cute gift to give to those fit friends in your life if you put them in a nice jar with a tag.

healthy things to do in Perth Perth: the place for outdoors-loving, nature-needing beach babes

As I write this, I’m in my hotel room in New York, enjoying the eighth week of an amazing trip of a lifetime in North America. I feel very grateful to have gotten the opportunity to be able to do so much travelling with my hubby while we are both so young. However, being away from home has made me a little homesick as I realise what a truly wonderful place Perth really is.

So, here is a list of my favourite

The Healthy highlights of New York

I thought it was about time I did another travel post! I have previously written about the healthy things to do when on holidays in Whistler, Honolulu, Nice and Port Douglas. I like to focus on writing about just the ‘healthy highlights’ of each place I go to, but this isn’t because I don’t try out unhealthy foods or do anything non-health and fitness related when travelling. As my regular readers know, I am a big fan of balance and see health as holistic. I do

The Importance of Rituals

the importance of rituals

Rituals are incredibly powerful and fundamental to success. After all, how we live each day is essentially how we live our life. I talked a bit about rituals when I wrote about how to maintain a healthy, fit physique long term by living a balanced lifestyle. Rituals are the same as habits. I will be using the words interchangeably in this post. They are the things you do automatically without thinking about it. Even if you don’t realise it, you already have daily rituals. They may be helping

The Healthy Highlights of Whistler

The healthy highlights of Whistler is my husband’s favourite spot in the whole world! It’s definitely up there for me, too. You’ll find Whistler nestled amongst huge mountains in the Canadian province of  British Columbia. It’s only a two hour drive from Vancouver and there are lots of cool spots to drop into on the way, making it a fun road trip. The drive is known as the ‘sea to sky highway’ and is very scenic, so stop at some of the lookouts for some beautiful views. The two places we dropped in to
