This is my husband’s and my current favourite green smoothie. We were basically aiming to create the most nutrient-packed drink possible that was still drinkable! It’s not very sweet, so maybe halve the recipe the first time to see if you like it. We enjoy it as a refreshing and energising start to our day on the weekends, along with some bacon and eggs.
Serves 2
Ingredients
300g cold filtered water
1 tray ice
2 asparagus spears
60g / 2 handfuls leafy greens (spinach, kale, lettuce, silver beet all work well)
1 Lebanese cucumber
1 tsp spirulina powder
1 lemon or orange, skin removed
1 green apple, quartered
60g / 1 small frozen banana
Method
- Place all ingredients into your blender and blend on high speed for 1 minute.
If you give it a try and post a pic on instagram, please tag me @eatmovelivewell and #eatmovelivewell so I can see it!
Happy nourishing!

Yum sounds delicious!
I’m going to try this Holly.
Great Jenny I hope you like it!
I love green smoothies! I make smoothie cubes in muffin tins each sunday to cut down on prep time at 5am during the week.
That’s a great idea! I’ve heard of people who make up ziplock bags with smoothie ingredients too.
